Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day, which falls on the 23rd of September of each year, which is the anniversary of its unification and founding at the hands of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, who announced the establishment of the Kingdom in the year 1932 AD, during which he laid the foundations of this structure according to the guidance of the Book of God. The Saudis remember a glorious day in which their country now became the most important in the international strategy, as the pace of the relationship of major and active countries with it increased to include various fields: political, security, military, and economic, with the aim of confronting all the challenges that have emerged in the Arabian Gulf region, and the most prominent of these challenges is combating… Terrorism, ensuring energy supplies, and achieving security and stability in the region.

The Saudi people realize, as they celebrate their National Day, that their country is characterized by characteristics that are rarely found in any other country, the first of which is the Islamic dimension, as the Kingdom occupies a religious position unmatched in its importance by any other Islamic country, as it is the place of revelation and the incubator of the most important holy places for Muslims, the Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque. Al-Sharif and other sites of Islamic importance, and this importance made them the focus of attention of Islamic countries in particular and the world in general, and made the Kingdom a country capable of playing a fundamental role in Arab and Muslim issues.

The second of these characteristics is the Kingdom’s geographical location, which has given it strategic importance at the regional and international levels. Today, as we celebrate National Day, which is an occasion of pride and honor for every Saudi, we must be proud of the amazing development that Saudi Arabia has witnessed in various fields, especially in the industrial and mining sectors, as industry and mining are considered among the vital sectors in the Saudi economy, which contribute greatly to the development of the Kingdom and provide opportunities. Many achievements have been achieved in these two sectors over the years, and Saudi Arabia has enormous natural resources that contribute to supporting the growth of industries and mining projects.

In the field of industry, the Kingdom has witnessed tremendous development in recent decades. Domestic and foreign investments in downstream and manufacturing industries were encouraged to promote economic diversification and achieve industrial transformation. Many industrial zones and specialized industrial cities were established throughout the Kingdom, which contributed to enhancing production and creating new job opportunities.

The petrochemical sector is one of the most prominent achievements in the field of industry, as Saudi Arabia is considered one of the largest petrochemical producers in the world. It owns the largest oil refinery in the world in Ras Tanura, and produces a wide range of petrochemical products that are used in many modern industries.

In the field of mining, Saudi Arabia has witnessed great development in exploiting its rich mineral resources. The Kingdom is considered one of the largest oil producers in the world, and extracts and exports many other minerals such as gold, silver, copper, zinc and phosphate. Saudi Arabia also has huge reserves of other minerals such as bauxite, limestone, quartz, gypsum, magnesite, chromium, and iron. Large mining projects are being developed to exploit these resources and enhance competitiveness in the global market.

In addition, many other industries such as food, metal, plastic, electronic and medical equipment industries have been developed. Huge projects have been implemented in the fields of military, aviation, transportation and construction industries, and companies and factories have been established that operate according to international standards and technologies.
